For some time now we have been observing a new fashion in the construction industry – designing houses with a uniform, very coherent shape. A perfect example of this are buildings without eaves, in which the clear boundary between the edge of the external wall and the roof is blurred. In response to this trend, our company, Galeco, has launched an innovative product, ROOFGUTTER. It is an integrated roof system that uses hidden roof gutters. Check how it is made and when it can be used!
For many years, our offer has included Galeco eavesless gutters, which are widely used in modern construction. It is highly appreciated by architects and users themselves, which confirms the need to create solutions enabling the design of buildings with a coherent shape. This inspired us to work on new technologies, the result of which is ROOFGUTTER.
This is currently the only existing, complete 2-in-1 roof system in which roof and façade elements are integrated with a hidden roof gutter. It is characterized by unique aesthetics, perfectly matching current trends in single-family construction. At the same time, it remains fully functional, so it has excellent efficiency in draining rain and snowmelt water.
Although this is an innovative solution in the industry, it is relatively simple in construction, which is its great advantage as it facilitates installation. The basis of the ROOFGUTTER installation is a standing seam panel that serves as a roof covering. At the same time, it smoothly transforms into an element finishing the building’s facade. The second important part of this integrated system is the roof gutter. It is hidden in the structure along with vertical downpipes.
When designing this solution, we took into account both its aesthetics and durability. For this reason, individual elements of the ROOFGUTTER installation are made of the highest quality materials. Important features of this integrated roof system include:
• use of durable GreenCoat® Crown BT steel for the production of seam panels (covered with an ecological coating based on rapeseed oil),
• the use of steel and PVC plastic for the production of roof gutters – ensures high durability while reducing weight,
• availability of panels in two fashionable colors today – graphite and black.
We have already mentioned that an important feature of this installation is the simplicity of its installation. After installing the first element of the integrated ROOFGUTTER system, i.e. roof panels, the gutter should be placed in the designated place. It is always located 50 cm from the lower edge of the roof. The procedure itself is uncomplicated and differs from the standard one primarily in that it is carried out without the need to attach gutter hooks first.
The roof gutter is held on two support points, symmetrically placed on both sides. Importantly, it is immediately integrated with the downpipe. This solution extends the life of the rainwater drainage system, limiting the number of points where leaks may occur in the future.
Permanently connecting the roof gutter to the drainage pipe is just one of many solutions that extend the life and increase the reliability of the integrated ROOFGUTTER installation. Other, equally important, include:
Qnnect system, which guarantees perfect tightness by connecting the gutter with the roof slope,
using an EPDM membrane directly under the gutter installation – this is additional protection of the roof in the event of a leak,
a structure to which the seam panels are attached, made of aluminum angles (an identical solution is located under the elements forming the building’s façade).
What is very important, just like the metal roofing tiles available in our company’s offer, the ROOFGUTTER system panels are also perfectly protected against corrosion. Therefore, the integrated installation connecting the roof covering with the facade and the roof gutter will withstand even the most difficult weather conditions. In addition, thanks to powder coating technology, it retains its original color for a long time, decorating the building.
This solution can be used on any building with a sloping gable roof. The ROOFGUTTER system is ideal, especially for currently popular eavesless facilities. It ensures a perfect transition between the roof covering and the façade, and its roof gutter is hidden and aesthetically integrated into the panels. However, this integrated installation can also be installed on buildings equipped with a hood. It gives architects enormous opportunities to create buildings with unusual, innovative shapes.
To facilitate design work, our company Galeco provides complete CAD and BIM libraries for the ROOFGUTTER product. At the same time, we provide comprehensive support both at the stage of building design and subsequent installation of the roof system integrated with the roof gutter. We produce panels to order to a specific size, so they can be easily adapted to virtually any house structure. They can be from 50 to 650 cm long!
As you can see, our new product, ROOFGUTTER, is an innovative solution that perfectly fits the trend of designing houses with a uniform shape. The integrated 2-in-1 system will allow you to create a perfect combination of facades and roof panels with a roof gutter.
